FUTURE PLANS
New Kitchen
at
Buckland Monachorum Village Hall
Our new kitchen was installed
in 2005!
Grants towards the cost
of the kitchen were awarded by:
Buckland Monachorum Parish Council
~ £850
Co-operative Group Community Dividend Award ~ £1,000
The Garfield Weston Foundation -£2000
Lloyds TSB Foundation ~ £1,000
The National Lottery, Awards for All scheme, ~ £5,000
Northcott Devon Foundation ~ £300
West Devon Borough Council ~ £5,500
Buckland Monachorum
Drama Group ~ £1,000
Our very grateful thanks to
all our funders.
The Hall's Management Committee,
with help from the local community, raised over £5,000 towards the project!
Thanks to a generous bequest
from Ricky Paul, who passed away in October 2006, we were able to purchase
new cutlery and crockery for the Hall.
The work of fund raising never
stops however! The kitchen needs minor things like, saucepans, roasting trays
etc!!!!! And we also need a plate/food warmer for functions.

Hydroboil. Hot water for the sink now comes from an instantaneous water
heater.

On the opposite
side to above, plenty of cupboard space and more worktop area. Immediately
to the right here, we have added a new door to give another entrance/exit
from the kitchen into the Hall.

and Cooker. Compare this view to the first one above of the old kitchen!

The Hall seats
99, imagine catering for 99 on a domestic cooker!

The only other
cupboard space!

In the future?
In the coming years, we need to
complete the installation of new 'safety lighting' plus the main hall will
need re-wiring throughout. We will also need new tables and chairs. The outside
will need a coat or two of paint. So as you can see...the work never stops! |
