June Fair 2008

The June Fair was held on the 14th June 2008

History of the June Fair

Buckland Monachorum June Fair has been traditionally held on the second Saturday in June for many years and the event seems to have developed from an older Village event known as the May Revels. For many years the Fair was held in the grounds of Pound House but it now takes place in the grounds of the village primary school. The organising of the day is undertaken by Groups and Charities within the Parish and all profits from the day are shared by these organisations.

COULD YOU HELP ON THE JUNE FAIR COMMITTEE?

The Fair is organised by a Committee that is made up of representatives from several local groups, who participate in planning and running the event and thus benefit from receiving a share of the profits made on the day. Putting on the Fair is hard work, but also a lot of fun and the Committee are always keen to hear from any group that would like to get involved. The Committee also invite any local Crafts People to attend the Fair, whether to just demonstrate their skills, or to trade. Cancer Research
Buckland Monachorum Village Hall·

There are also Committee members who are 'independent' of participating groups, who help to hold everything together!

The current elected Committee members are: Rachel Bennet (Chair) Gary Baird (Treasurer)
